Throughout this report, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s survey results are compared to CEP’s broader dataset of more than 40,000 grantees built up over more than a decade of grantee surveys of more than 250 funders. The full list of participating funders can be found at https://cep.org/gpr-participant-1/.
In order to protect the confidentiality of respondents results are not shown when CEP received fewer than five responses to a specific question.
In addition to showing MacArthur's overall ratings, this report shows ratings segmented by Foundation Strategy and Programs.
The categories within the Strategy and Program subgroup largely remained consistent since the last grantee survey in 2016, with the exception of "Impact Investing," which is now categorized under Field Support instead of Big Bets. Grantees who received multiple grants and belong to at least two different strategies or were tagged to "Other" strategies in MacArthur's list are not represented in this level of analysis.
